We understand how important your @alumni.purdue.edu email address may be and appreciate the connection it has provided to Purdue over the years. As technology and communication preferences have evolved, most alumni now rely on personal email accounts, and overall use of the alumni service has declined significantly, with 90% of the accounts now inactive. After careful consideration, the decision was made to retire the service effective November 1, 2026.

This decision wasn’t made lightly. We truly value our Purdue alumni community, and we’re committed to focusing our resources on services and opportunities that provide the greatest impact and engagement for alumni as a whole.

On November 1, you will no longer be able to use your @alumni.purdue.edu account to send or receive messages. This deactivation includes access to information such as calendar events and appointments, contacts, reminders, and notes.

Please make sure you complete the following steps before November 1:

  • Export important messages, attachments, and contacts.
  • Provide contacts, services, and subscriptions with an alternate email address.
  • Update multifactor-authentication or account-recovery settings associated with your alumni email address.
  • Ensure your preferred email is up to date in the Purdue for Life portal.
    • Log in to your portal account.
